Weekending in Vancouver BC

Vancouver is a spendy city to visit but if you shop around you

Secondly, try to get a hotel that has easy to access to public transit.  This will allow you to get around Vancouver using the SkyTrain, Seabus and buses rather than relying on more expensive taxis. One example is The Met Hotel in New Westminster right next to Columbia SkyTrain Station. It is only 27 minutes from downtown Vancouver and has very reasonable rates. You can get a good overview of Vancouver just by riding all the segments of the Skytrain system which offers many good views of the city from its elevated tracks.

Next, find some destinations you can see free of charge which you can also get to easily via public transit.  Vancouver has many beautiful parks and viewpoints as well as historic buildings and neighbourhoods that you can spend days exploring without cost.

So for less than a $100 a day we can stay for seven days. So it will cost us around $700 for housing but it is right on public transportation which will make it really easy to get around. We can cook in our room if we want Safeway is right down the street.
#2 of 111 Tours & Activities in Vancouver
Vancouver Foodie Tours offers food tasting and cultural walking tours, introducing locals   I booked a tour of the food carts I think that will be great fun.

Of course we will have to go to old town and visit all the quaint shops and to china town. And of course High Tea
The Fairmont’s high tea is truly Her Royal Highness of tea service in Vancouver. Steeped in the English tradition, the Fairmont Hotel Vancouver’s signature tea includes their fine tea blends, finger sandwiches, and sweet treats. A children’s “Bubblegum” tea will delight the younger set, while those of age may opt for the addition of champagne.

So what was suppose to be a short weekend business trip has again turned into a week fun and business trip combined. Depending on the weather believe me I am taking my boots and rain slicker some nice warm sweaters. Of course I have to leave room in the luggage to buy a beautiful wool sweater and maybe a skirt. The English wool is so beautiful and I will have to have a new tea cup look at those above.
I can hardly wait.
